The World of the Small – Photo Galleries
Nature is full of astonishing shapes, colors, and structures. In my photo galleries, I show what a closer look can reveal – from tiny living creatures to fascinating details from the world of plants and animals.
Most of these photographs are taken using microscope objectives, although some are captured with macro lenses or film scanner lenses. To keep even the tiniest details sharply in focus, I use focus stacking: multiple images taken at different focal planes are combined into a single photograph. For macro photography, the camera usually handles this process internally. At higher magnifications, I work with microscopes or a custom-built horizontal photography setup. In my Focus Stacking Blog, I explain how these techniques work, introduce the lenses I use, and share my experiences with them.
